WHAT TO KNOW: Angelwood Pictures Sets Date for Annual Angel Awards.

Angelwood Pictures announced on Friday that they will be hosting their highly anticipated gala, the Angel Awards, on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 6 PM. 


The production company is known for their successful projects such as "Luna, the Witch," “Family Problems,” “Lungs: The Series” and more.


The event will be held at UMass Dartmouth, located in Dartmouth, MA, and will take place in the Marketplace area, conveniently accessible in the central part of the campus.


The Angel Awards have been a staple event for Angelwood Pictures, having previously hosted it in 2015 and 2017. It serves as a fundraiser for the company, with all proceeds going towards future projects. 



The event features a red carpet arrival, a networking hour with a cash bar and appetizers followed by a 2-hour award presentation honoring individuals who have been nominated for their exceptional performances and technical accomplishments. 


Attendees can also expect exclusive sneak peek trailers and teasers for upcoming projects. Angelwood Pictures will also reveal their exciting lineup for the 2025-2026 season. 


Projects, spanning from 2019 to 2024, will be considered for nominations. The projects include: “Luna, the Witch,” "Testing: Season 3-4," "OUT: A Short Film," "Francine, the Fixer Witch," "Davina, the Delivery Witch," "Resurrection of Victoria Wheeler: The Series," “He’ll Be Home for Christmas (Pilot)” “Eyes: The Series,” "A Special Dinner," and "World's Worst Christmas Series." 


The nominations for the Angel Awards will be announced on October 25, with cast & crew from all projects under consideration being eligible for multiple categories. Winners will receive a prestigious trophy to commemorate their achievements. 



Past winners of the Angel Awards have included Tony Ramos Wright, Pamela Jayne Morgan, Wendy Hartman, and many more. The awards will be presented by members of the New England Film Community.


In addition to the awards ceremony, there will also be two special honors presented at the event. The Golden Angel, a surprise award, has been previously given to Jan Waldman and Mary C. Ferrara, while the James R. Zukerman Special Achievement Award, an announced honor, has been given to actress Maureen Vlaco and set designer/actress Mary Hronicek. 


The recipients for these special awards will be announced at a later date.
